Everyone knows that protein is important for building and repairing muscle fibres after exercise, but proteins in the body have thousands of other essential roles, including:

down to fulfil the amino acids “pool.” If you consume more protein than your body needs, the excess amino acids are broken down further and the nitrogen, ammonia uric acid and z are secreted in urine, and part of the amino acid remaining can either be stored as body fat or muscle.
